Statement on January 6th Events

The spectacle we watched on Wednesday was a showdown between factions of the ruling class—the supporters of the status quo and the insurgent fascists—and their foot soldiers on the ground. As communists, we don’t have a stake in that fight, but we do have a stake in the fight to prevent the rise of fascism, and a responsibility to present the alternative to the working class: socialism.

Statement on the 2020 Election

Early in the morning, after hours of watching poll results roll across our screens and waiting for information about mail-in ballots, Trump announced a “big WIN” on twitter, and stated definitively in his 2AM speech that “we did win this election”. As expected, he and his supporters are claiming that the mail-in ballots, particularly those coming from majority Democrat states and cities (such as Philadelphia) are fraudulent, and that an election that does not result in his victory must be fallacious.

Statement on the Summer 2020 Local Uprisings

In the wake of the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many more, we feel it is crucial to provide our unconditional support to protesters around the city, country, and globe who have taken to the streets to fight against police brutality. As Marxists, we demand a better system than capitalism. As socialists, we have taken to the streets to challenge the white supremacy we see at every level of society.
