Joining the Philly Socialists Facebook Group
The PS Members and Volunteers group is where members, volunteers and sister org members have regular communications about what is happening in the city and in the organization. It is the best way to stay up-to-date on tasks that need to be done and to get the inside scope on what is happening in Philadelphia's Left.
To join, simply message our Facebook page! Someone will respond to you within a day or two (otherwise, send us a reminder). Unfortunately, the group is "secret" to avoid a massive influx of requests and to make sure that the group is mostly people who are interested in supporting our work.
Joining the Philly Socialists Strategy Listserv
The strategy listserv is exclusively for dues-paying members. This is where members have internal discussions about strategy. If major events are happening that are not public, we discuss them on this listserv. Additionally, we discuss occasionally discuss event planning and debate political decisions on this listserv. IT IS CRUCIAL THAT ALL MEMBERS BE ON THIS LISTSERV!!
1. Make sure you have a Google Account (e.g., GMail Account). If you don't, you will need to make one and can set-up automatic forwarding to your main email client. If you are confused about this, please message the FB Discussion group and someone will get back to you about this.
2. Click on this link while logged-in to your Google Account.
3. Click "Apply for membership" and write us a message so we can identify you! When you apply for membership, it will ask you to write a short message. Please include a clear and easy way to identify yourself. This would include things like:
Your Facebook profile
Your phone number
The email address associated with the PayPal you use to pay dues
From our end, we want to be able to figure out that you are who you say you are, and that you pay dues. Anything that makes that easier would be ideal.
